With two Democrats joining the nine-member Republican majority, the 38th Guam Legislature overrode Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero's veto of the fiscal 2026 budget.

Later Wednesday, the governor introduced a separate bill to provide $40 million to Guam Memorial Hospital.

Hospital Administrator and CEO Lillian Perez-Posadas said Guam's public hospital is "at the heart of issues under discussion."
