Kagman High School was placed on lockdown early Wednesday morning after the CNMI Public School System received a reported shooting threat made through social media.
PSS said the lockdown began around 7 a.m. as a precaution while the Department of Public Safety initiated a lockout and coordinated response protocols with school officials.
Investigators interviewed an individual who may have information regarding the threat made against KHS. DPS continued its assessment throughout the morning.
At around 10 a.m., DPS issued an all clear, allowing normal school operations to resume. Authorities said no immediate danger was identified following the investigation.
DPS said it will continue working closely with PSS and school administrators to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff as KHS prepares to welcome students back to class.
Officials reminded the public that making threats of violence, including threats involving schools, is a criminal offense punishable by law.
