CNMI authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify a woman found dead in a farm area near Airport Road on Monday, after nearby residents confirmed the deceased was not from either of the neighboring family compounds.
The Department of Public Safety said the discovery was made at about 9:47 a.m. by a resident who was searching for a missing cow along the western boundary of his family’s property. The resident noticed what appeared to be a fresh trail through tall grass and followed it into a jungle area between two family compounds, where he found the body in a small clearing. He immediately contacted DPS.
Crime scene technicians and Criminal Investigation Bureau personnel arrived at approximately 10:15 a.m. and processed the area. Assistant Chief of Police Simon Manacop said the woman’s body was in an advanced state of decomposition, preventing investigators from determining her age or race. Family members from both neighboring compounds were contacted, and all were accounted for.
The cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending further investigation and the results of an autopsy, which has been requested.
Investigators said the woman is estimated to be between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with hair slightly longer than shoulder length. She was wearing a white T‑shirt with the words “Thunder Bird Baby Stag Booster” printed on the front, gray spandex leggings, and was barefoot.
DPS is urging anyone with a missing family member or anyone who recognizes the description or clothing to contact authorities. Individuals with information may call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 670‑664‑9042 or the DPS front desk at 670‑664‑9001.
The investigation remains active, and DPS said additional updates will be released as they become available.
