Weather forecasters are keeping a close eye on Invest 92W, a system located north of Kosrae.

The CNMI Joint Information Center says the system is currently moving west-northwest at about 16 mph and is showing early signs of organization, though it remains broad and weak.

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center rates the system as low, meaning tropical cyclone development is not expected in the next 24 hours.

Forecast guidance shows uncertainty about the system’s track and intensity.

Guam, Saipan, Rota and Tinian are within the area of concern, with a possible passage through the area sometime between Thursday evening and Friday evening.

The National Weather Service continues to monitor the system for any potential impacts to the region.

Residents are advised to stay alert, review preparedness plans, and remain ready for updates as the situation develops.
