The location of a tentative 47-unit agricultural subdivision was approaved by the Guam Hybrid Land Use Commission on Thursday.

Land use officials approved several housing projects Thursday, including a subdivision for single-family units in Santa-Rita Sumai, a zone change for multi-family units in Hagat and a subdivision in Barrigada Heights.

The Guam Hybrid Land Use Commission approved a tentative subdivision in Santa Rita-Sumai. The 47-unit project in the Apra Heights area is the latest phase of the Buena Vista subdivision, which started in 2007.

Construction of the agricultural subdivision will involve grading to create access roads, a network of 22-foot-wide paved roadways, electrical power distribution system improvements and individual sewage disposal facilities.

The proposed site is undeveloped, and the developer is planning to sell the lots, rather than homes on lots.

Purchasers are then able to build their own homes on the property.

Commissioners approved a zone change from M2 heavy industrial to M1 light industrial in Hagat to allow for the vacant commercial spaces on the second floor of an existing building to be converted to six multi-family dwelling units.

The property is located across from Inn on the Bay.

The Guam Land Use Commission also approved a 12-lot subdivision in Barrigada Heights on Thursday.

The property, east of St. Dominic’s Senior Care Home, is currently overgrown with vegetation.
