Office of the Governor of Guam
Department of CHamoru Affairs President Melvin Won Pat-Borja, left, and Guam Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu, Aug. 9, 2025.

The community will be able to get a first look at some of the returned artifacts from the Bishop Museum’s Hornbostel collection during a free event from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Guam Museum.

About 10,000 artifacts removed from Guam and the Northern Marianas a century ago are in the process of being returned.

On Saturday, Museum Curator Michael Lujan Bevacqua and Nicole Delisle Duenas from the Guam Respository will give a presentation on some of the pieces, which include rare pottery, large slingstones, and a pictograph that was carved from a cave wall in Talo’fo’fo’.
