The Department of Public Health and Social Services will conduct a village outreach program in Chalan Pago-Ordot on Nov. 6.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chalan Pago-Ordot Multipurpose Emergency Center. Residents can learn about several Public Health programs, get help with applications, and learn about available community resources.

Immunizations will be available for children ages 2 months to 18 years who are enrolled in Medicaid or the Medically Indigent Program or who have no health insurance.

Parents must bring the child’s birth certificate, current immunization record, and their own valid photo ID. Children must be accompanied by a parent or have written authorization or legal documentation allowing another adult to accompany them.

Public Health will also provide educational information on diabetes, tobacco, lead exposure, and hypertension. The Bureau of Child Care Services will have child care assistance applications and program materials available.

Residents can also receive eligibility assessments for the Breast Cervical Cancer Screening Program and the Women, Infants, and Children program. Information will also be available on mental health and primary care services, the aging program, and Adult Protective Services.

Public Health says this is its first village outreach event for fiscal year 2027, part of an effort to make health and social services more accessible to residents.

The department notes that tuberculosis skin tests, also known as PPD tests, will not be offered for the outreach program.
