The Guam Bureau of Women’s Affairs is accepting proposals from qualified organizations seeking federal funding for programs addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

The funding is available through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Services, Training, Officers and Prosecutors (STOP) Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program. Guam was awarded nearly $668,000 under the program in fiscal year 2024.

Eligible applicants include local criminal justice agencies, such as law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and courts, 501(c)(3) nonprofit victim-service organizations, including faith-based and community-based organizations, and local violence or sexual assault coalitions.

Organizations must demonstrate expertise in addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Applicants proposing new projects must also explain the need for their proposed program, identify gaps in existing services, and show how their work would complement services already available in the community.

Grant funding may support existing programs or new initiatives that meet program guidelines. Eligible projects include victim services and efforts to strengthen law enforcement and justice system responses to violence against women.

Organizations proposing new projects must submit completed applications by 4 p.m. Nov. 20. Existing grant recipients seeking continued funding must also complete requirements to maintain their funding.

For application materials, submission requirements, or questions, contact the Bureau of Women’s Affairs at (671) 475-9178 or email gcofpo@guam.gov.
