Artspace Guåhasn will open its new exhibition, You Are Here, on Oct. 15, at its studio in Tamuning.

The exhibition brings together different artistic perspectives and explores how personal histories, identities, experiences, and surroundings can influence how people understand themselves and the world around them.

The exhibition centers on the question, “What does HERE mean to YOU?” and invites visitors to consider their own connections to place and belonging through the artwork on display.

Artspace Guåhan will bring together artists with different perspectives and ask visitors to consider what being “here” means to them. Deane Jessee-Jones, secretary of the board of directors, says the exhibition supports local artists of varying ages.

She said, “We do not collect any commission… all of the profits go directly to the artist.”

Artspace Guåhan is a Guam-based nonprofit that works to make art accessible and provide opportunities for local artists to exhibit and connect with the community.

The opening runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will include an opportunity to meet the artists.

The exhibition will remain on display through Dec. 3.

You Are Here is free and open to the public.
