The 38th Guam Micronesia Island Fair has been rescheduled for Oct. 23 through 25 at Gov. Joseph Flores Memorial Park, also known as Ypao Beach.
The annual event, organized by the Guam Visitors Bureau, will be held under the theme “The Tides and Traditions of Micronesia.”
The fair is expected to feature cultural performances, traditional music and dance, food, crafts, fashion, and cultural demonstrations representing communities from across Micronesia. GVB President and CEO Régine Biscoe Lee said the fair provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to learn more about the region’s cultures and traditions while bringing communities from across Micronesia together on Guam. “GMIF is something we look forward to because it brings our region together right here on Guam,” Lee said. GVB Director of Destination Development Ina Carillo said the event also gives cultural practitioners an opportunity to share their knowledge and allows younger generations to see their traditions represented.
Additional details about participating islands, entertainment, vendors, cultural activities, and the event schedule will be announced in the coming months.
The fair was originally scheduled for early June, but was postponed because of Super Typhoon Sinlaku recovery.
