Two individuals have been indicted in federal court on charges alleging a conspiracy involving more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, according to court documents filed July 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands.
Jeffrey Sanchez Taitingfong and Meilan Huang Taitingfong, also known as “Apple,” were each charged in separate indictments with conspiracy to possess or distribute methamphetamine. Prosecutors also filed criminal forfeiture allegations seeking a money judgment and the seizure of a red 2017 Honda HR‑V identified in both cases.
Arrest warrants for both defendants were issued July 10 by Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona. Records show the warrants were executed July 13 in Hagatna, Guam, where both were taken into custody.
At his arraignment on Friday, Jeffrey Taitingfong appeared in custody before designated Judge Lillian A. Tenorio, and entered a plea of not guilty. Tenorio set a jury trial for Sept. 22 before Chief Judge Manglona.
Court documents did not indicate the relationship between the two defendants.
