Guam Power Authority bucket trucks that were sent to Saipan to help with Super Typhoon Sinlaku recovery in April have returned to Guam.
The eight trucks arrived on a barge at the Port Authority of Guam on Tuesday night after the 12-hour trip from Saipan.
In a news release, Guam’s Joint Information Center said nobody could have predicted the trucks would be needed back home for another super typhoon just weeks later.
Without the trucks, GPA announced power had been restored to 90% of the island within a week of COR 4 being declared.
GPA is now focusing on some of the hardest-hit areas of Guam and isolated pockets of lingering power outages.
