More than $22 million in federal disaster loans has already been approved for Super Typhoon Sinlaku survivors, the U.S. Small Business Administration said, as the agency extended the deadline for physical‑damage applications to Aug. 21.
As of June 23, the SBA has approved 1,204 loans totaling $22,024,300 across the Commonwealth. That includes 979 home loans amounting to $20,896,300, 203 business loans totaling $841,800, and 23 Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) worth $286,200. SBA Public Affairs Specialist Raenada Mason said the updated figures reflect the scale of losses from the April 11–18 typhoon and the continued need for financial assistance as families and businesses work through long‑term recovery.
The 60‑day grace period, authorized under the President’s major disaster declaration, extends the physical‑damage loan deadline to Aug. 21 for renters, homeowners, businesses, and private nonprofits. Mason urged those who have not yet applied to do so before the new cutoff, noting that “this grace period ends on Aug. 21 — submit your application before it’s too late.”
The deadline to return Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications remains Jan. 25, 2027.
