More than 900 disaster loan applications have now been processed in the CNMI, pushing U.S. Small Business Administration approvals to $10 million as residents and businesses work to rebuild after Typhoon Sinlaku.

In an update shared with media on Tuesday, Raenada Mason, public affairs specialist with SBA’s Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, said total approvals reached $10,067,700 as of June 7. Mason said homeowners continue to make up nearly all approved assistance, with 736 home loan applications totaling $9,854,900. Business loans amounted to $126,600 across 156 approvals, while 15 Economic Injury Disaster Loans totaled $85,200.

The SBA provides low‑interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofits to repair or replace damaged property after federally declared disasters. Mason said the agency continues to encourage eligible residents and business owners to apply as rebuilding progresses.

The Saipan Municipality Business Recovery Center at the Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe is now operating under new hours, open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to the SBA notice, “this center has new hours,” and applicants may continue to submit disaster loan applications online at SBA.gov/disaster.

Federal officials also underscored that key deadlines are approaching. The SBA document states that the deadline to submit physical damage loan applications is June 22, while the deadline to return Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications is Jan. 25, 2027. Applicants with questions may contact the SBA Customer Service Center at (800) 659‑2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
