Residents who missed the June 1 deadline to register for Red Cross financial assistance after Typhoon Sinlaku may still be able to receive help if they faced extenuating circumstances, the American Red Cross said Wednesday.

Spokesperson Frederic Klein said the organization will review late cases individually.

“If someone was unable to register their application prior to the June 1 deadline due to extenuating circumstances, such as if they were hospitalized or unable to return home until recently, they should give us a call and we will address these individual circumstances on a case‑by‑case basis,” Klein said.

People in those situations are urged to call 670‑234‑3459.

Over the past six weeks, the Red Cross has worked with community partners to reach households whose homes sustained major damage from Typhoon Sinlaku and to encourage them to register for financial assistance.

Klein said residents who applied before the deadline may still submit missing documents later. Caseworkers will continue helping applicants finalize their files in the coming days.
