The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vincent Danz sails into the New York Harbor, May 20, 2026. The Vincent Danz will be homeported on Guam.

A recently commissioned Coast Guard patrol cutter will soon be headed for Guam.

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Vincent Danz is the fourth of five fast response cutters that will be homeported on Guam, joining the Myrtle Hazard, Oliver Henry and Frederick Hatch.

The commissioning ceremony was held Friday in New York City.

The vessel is named for New York City police officer Vincent Danz, who was also a Coast Guard reservist. Danz was killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center in New York.

The crew of the Vincent Danz will primarily serve U.S. and mutual interests in the region, conducting maritime security operations, combating illegal activity, supporting search and rescue missions, and strengthening partnerships with Pacific Island nations and allies.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by members of Danz’s family.
