Typhoon Sinlaku's winds had dropped to 130 mph as of 7 a.m. Wednesday, and the storm was slowly moving away from Saipan and Tinian.
National Weather Service forecasters said the storm was located at 15.4 degrees north latitude and 145.3 degrees east longitude. Sinlaku was heading north-northwest at 4 mph.
Typhoon-force winds extend outward from the center up to 75 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 265 miles.
Sinlaku is forecast to continue weakening through the next few days as it moves through the northern CNMI.
