Guam power bills are unlikely to increase anytime soon because of the war in Iran, according to Guam Power Authority.

During a meeting of the Consolidated Commission on Utilities Tuesday night, GPA General Manager John Benavente recommended keeping the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause, or LEAC, at its current level for the remainder of the adjustment period, which runs through July 31.

The LEAC makes up the largest part of Guam power bills.

The utility will continue to monitor global fuel market volatility created by the war in the Middle East.

Benavente also said that if there is an increase in the LEAC later this year, it would likely be lower than it would have been before the Ukudu Power Plant came online.
