Guam Del. James Moylan issued a statement Sunday expressing concern about servicemembers from Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands following the U.S. government’s recent action in Venezuela.
President Donald Trump announced Saturday that the U.S. military had captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro following a large-scale military operation in Caracas.
Moylan said his office has not received confirmation that servicemembers from Guam or the CNMI were involved in the operation.
He said he expects timely briefings to Congress regarding the scope, legal authority, and objectives of the operation, and he said he will closely monitor developments.
