Guam will send a 27-member delegation to Taiwan from Dec. 6 through 13 for the World Indigenous Traditional Games.
It’s Guam’s first appearance at the games, which celebrate Indigenous identity, heritage and traditional sport.
Guam’s athletes will participate in competitions including traditional archery, music and dance, wrestling, road running, weight carrying and tug-of-war.
More than 300 athletes from around the globe will participate, including representatives from Palau, the Northern Marianas, the Marshall Islands, Hawaii and the Philippines.
Participants include both emerging young practitioners and experienced cultural athletes.
The Guam delegation includes:
