Philippine Airlines announced new direct service between Guam and Cebu beginning Dec. 16.
Goodwind Travel and Tour, the airline’s general sales agent on Guam, announced the route will operate three times weekly, with planes going from Guam to Cebu at 6:50 a.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and Cebu to Guam at 3:25 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Sen. Jesse Lujan discussed the new route during a meeting of the Guam Visitors Bureau board of directors on Thursday, saying the expected price will be about $430 round-trip.
“It’s a great thing,” said Lujan, who has oversight of GVB.
Goodwind Travel and Tour Operations Manager Israel Fontanilla said the new service strengthens travel and cultural ties between Guam and the Philippines.
“With the introduction of this new direct connection, we are making it easier for our Guam-based passengers to reach Cebu, one of the Philippines’ most vibrant cities and a gateway to Visayas and Mindanao,” Fontanilla said.
The airline currently offers flights between Guam and Manila.
