Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero met with civilian and military leaders in Okinawa on Monday to discuss military activities in the region and the movement of Marines to Guam.
Leon Guerrero and Okinawa Gov. Denny Tamaki discussed the ongoing military relocation projects, economic opportunities, and strengthening cultural and tourism exchanges between Guam and Okinawa, according to Adelup.
They also shared perspectives on sustainability challenges facing both island communities.
The Guam governor also met with Lt. Gen. Roger B. Turner Jr. , commanding general of the III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa.
In addition to discussing military activities in the region, they talked about the commitment to Guam’s defense.
It was Leon Guerrero’s second visit to Okinawa.
