Shopping on Guam

Shopping ranks as one of the top activities on Guam, according to a Guam Visitors Bureau exit survey.

As Guam’s tourism industry struggles to return to pre-pandemic levels, the Guam Visitors Bureau conducted its first visitor exit surveys since 2023.

Some 94% of visitors from South Korea and Japan said they were likely to return again, and shopping topped the list of favorite activities for visitors from both countries.

Other top activities for Korean tourists include snorkeling, dinner shows, sunset cruises and fine dining. Japanese tourists enjoyed coffee shops, night markets, sunbathing and snorkeling.

Two Lovers Point and CHamoru Village night market were both popular attractions, and the visitors reported high satisfaction with beaches and the friendliness of locals and hotel and store staff.

Visitors were less satisfied with road conditions and transportation options, and visitors from Japan called for more shuttle buses, cabs, public transportation and extended routes.

May 2025 visitors numbers were down 2.6% from May 2024 and they were down 57.5% from May 2019, according to GVB.
