Northern Marianas College President Galvin Sablan Deleon Guerrero has officially thrown his hat into the ring, announcing his independent candidacy for the CNMI's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Speaking about his decision, Deleon Guerrero emphasized a strong commitment to the people of the Commonwealth. He stated his intention to champion working families, educational institutions, small businesses, veterans, youth, and the environment.

He also acknowledged the significant influence of his family in his decision to seek office, citing his uncle, former U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, and his parents as key role models.

The next general election in the CNMI will be held in 2026 and will include races for Governor, NMI delegate, Attorney General, and various seats in the Commonwealth Legislature.
