On Friday, Sen. Chris Barnett convened Team Guam at the Guam Congress Building to celebrate their victory at the 2025 Asia-Pacific/Middle East Senior Regional Baseball Tournament.

The team defended its title on home soil at Harmon Sports Complex, going undefeated. They capped the game with a commanding 5-1 win over the Philippines. As a result, they earn a spot at the Senior League World Series in Easley, South Carolina, beginning late July.

"Every player here had a role to play in this team," said Head Coach Kevin Acosta. "And when it was their turn to be called on, they all executed very well."

Team captain Evan Acosta said it felt good that their hard work paid off. "We deserve it," he said.

Barnett praised the team's dedication, calling it a moment of immense pride for Guam.
