Villanueva owned Roil Soil Marketing, which was the key organizer for the 2022 Music Festival and brought featured artists like Maoli, One Rhythm, and Steppahs to the CNMI.
According to the police department, the investigation began on the evening of May 19, 2025, when police received a request for a welfare check at an apartment on Chupak Street in Kagman 3.
At the apartment, police officers discovered a body, identified as Villanueva, that was already in an advanced state of decomposition.
Authorities have also requested a post-mortem examination as they work to determine the official manner of death of the deceased.
DPS investigators have submitted a request for an autopsy to the Attorney General’s Office and are awaiting approval.
