CNMI Governor Arnold Palacios, who took office as the chief executive two years ago, will deliver his first State of the Commonwealth Address on May 29th.
This address will be given to a joint session of the CNMI Senate and House of Representatives at the Governor Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
During his speech, the governor is anticipated to outline his strategies for tackling the CNMI's economic challenges, the struggles within the tourism industry, recent business closures, and the decline in government revenue.
One-third of CNMI’s economy depends on tourism, which has been on the decline since 2018 following the impact of Super Typhoon Yutu.
