As part of scheduled rotations and conclusion of their individual tours, three senior-ranking military leaders on Guam are set to turn over their commands in May.

Rear Adm. Joshua Lasky, a Navy SEAL, will assume command of Joint Task Force-Micronesia and will relieve Rear Adm. Greg Huffman on May 15.

On May 22, Col. Charles Cooley will assume command of the 36th Wing and relieve Brig. Gen. Thomas Palenske, who will be retiring after 39 years of service.

Rear Adm. Brett Mietus will assume command of Joint Region Marianas and will replace Rear Adm. Brent DeVore on May 29.

According to the command’s press release, the goal is to conduct a proper turnover to ensure a seamless transition and a continued forward-leaning posture on regional defense.
