Attorney Michael White along with other CNMI residents took part in the nationwide protest against the Trump administration last Saturday.

Over the weekend, a group of CNMI residents gathered by the side of the road in Oleai, Saipan to protest and voice out their concerns against the Trump administration’s sweeping executive orders on foreign policy, immigration, environment, economy and trade, among others.

The residents also held signs that read: “America is not a dictatorship,” “Protect human rights,” and “Due process for everyone.” Among the protesters and speaking as a private citizen, Attorney Michael White calls for the return of the rule of law.

“We are out here demonstrating, believing that America needs to return to the rule of law,” White said. “We have a president who doesn't respect our Constitution, who doesn't respect the rule of law, who doesn't respect the rights of people. We've just got to change this. America can't continue this way.”

The rally was part of a nationwide day of protest against President Trump’s controversial policies.
