Congressman James Moylan

In January, Delegate James Moylan introduced a bill to help better assist veterans in Guam. On Monday, it was successfully passed by Congress and now heads to the Senate for further Action.

The Deliver for Veterans Act, or H.R. 877, aims to help certain disabled veterans and active-duty members by covering delivery costs associated with their use of adaptive vehicles.

Currently, the Department of Veterans Affairs provides financial assistance for purchasing such adaptive vehicles. But delivery expenses are not included.

"This legislation is a crucial step towards ensuring that our veterans, regardless of their geographical location, have equitable access to the services and support they deserve," said Moylan. "By including shipping costs in the program, we can alleviate the financial burden on veterans living in Guam, and other areas of the world."
