The U.S. Navy has teamed up with Talkspace to offer free, virtual therapy services for Navy personnel and their families, effective immediately.

Talkspace is an online behavioral health care company that offers unlimited on-demand mental health resources. This new initiative with the U.S. Navy provides Talkspaces mental health resources to help manage stress, anxiety, and other behavioral health concerns.

Currently, the Navy and Talkspace are running a trial of these benefits at six key bases: Naval Base Guam, Newport News Shipyard, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Naval Base Ventura County at Port Hueneme in California, Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.

A survey released last year by the Navy’s Health of the Force revealed that the percentage of Sailors reporting severe or extreme levels of stress has steadily increased.
