The Pacific Island nation of Palau has signed a significant agreement with the World Green Economy Organisation (WGE0) during the COP29 summit in Azerbaijan.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to advance low-carbon solutions, conserve natural resources, and promote ocean conservation, a critical focus for Palau as a small island state vulnerable to climate change.
Palau President Surangel Whipps Jr., highlighted the partnership’s global significance, saying it strengthens his country’s sustainability efforts while benefiting the broader international community.
WGEO chairman, Saeed Al Tayer, called the agreement a step toward elevating the voices of vulnerable nations and building a more resilient world.
The agreement includes tailored green economy projects, knowledge sharing, and advocacy at international climate forums. Both sides hope this collaboration inspires similar initiatives worldwide.
