Guam's first Central Pacific Cybersecurity Summit showcased the challenges that came to light after a major cyberattack during Super Typhoon Mawar.

A Chinese hacking group called Volt Typhoon staged the attack with the goal of penetrating critical infrastructure. This can range from telecommunications, and utility companies to military operations.

The summit convened several government and federal agencies to address this issue.
