MHS challenged Dr. Rita H. Inos Sr. High School, Kagman High School, Marianas High School, Saipan International School, Saipan Southern High School, and Tinian High School for the honor of representing CNMI in this year’s National High School Mock Trial in Arizona.

Put together by the CNMI Judiciary, in partnership with the Public School System, the Judiciary Historical Society, and the CNMI Bar Association, the mock trial competition was designed to give students a hands-on experience in applying advocacy skills in a courtroom setting.

MHS Mock Trial team captain Prapti Mondal attributed their success to collective efforts and strong support from their teacher and attorney coaches.

“It’s hard work, for sure. I think every one of the team members is very committed, and since everyone is willing to progress and help each other out…that brings our team together on the same track,” Mondal said. “This is a team effort, not an individual one, and because we are all so connected, we have a bond that sets us apart from others.”

The other MHS trial team members are: Juan Bancia, Angelica Calvo, Mary Grace Legaspi, Steven Lian, Hannah Lim, Jia Nicdao, David Park, Trixia Singca, Jim Sison, Reese Tolentino and Irene Wang.

Robyn Spaeth and Jacoby Winkfield are MHS teacher-coaches, while attorneys Michael Dotts and Rebecca Wiggins served as their attorney-coaches.

This win continues the Dolphins’ dominance in the competition.
